| STEP 1 Planning |
The client organization or its representative needs to come up with the following:
- A scope of work
- Time frames
- Key Performance Indicators that will be used to monitor the project
- Project milestones are popular because they specify both deliverables and the dates those deliverables are due.
|
STEP 2 Standard Operating Procedures |
Review current operations and use the outsourcing process as a way to improve the way you do business. |
| STEP 3 Mentor |
In most cases, clients need to establish a mentoring relationship with the service provider to help build service provider expertise. Although a lot of outsourcing companies are staffed with highly skilled and trained professionals, every client requires a unique approach to their own business processes. |
| STEP 4 Start Small |
The first phase is exciting and in most cases, you’ll want to get a lot of things done right away and you’d think hiring or scaling up is the only way to go. Don’t go too fast. Carefully assessing the right level of operations to meet your desired results doesn’t mean you grow from three seats to 40 in two weeks or two months. Chances are, evaluating processes that can be automated will tell you that there’s more things one person can do – in an efficient manner and by using the right tools, than the other way around. |
| STEP 5 Keep the Momentum |
keep an outsourcing arrangement dynamic and effective:
- Effective and constant communication
- Proactive and progress reporting
- Action planning and performance improvement
